Charlton have signed forward Ricky Holmes from Northampton for an undisclosed fee.
Holmes, 28, named in the Sky Bet League Two's team of the year at the end of the season, has put pen to paper on a two-year deal and is manager Russell Slade's first signing at the club.
"He was a top target for me and to be able to bring him to The Valley was very important for us, as we look to build a strong squad for the season ahead," Slade told Charlton's official website.
"Ricky had a fantastic season last year at Northampton and is a player who is capable of not only scoring goals but creating them too."
Holmes played a key role for League Two champions Northampton last season, scoring 11 goals in 32 appearances.
"Charlton is a fantastic club and I can't wait to get started," he said.
"I had a great time at Northampton and last season's promotion was the most enjoyable season of my career, although I think this is a great next step for me."
Holmes started out at Chelmsford City and moved on to Barnet in 2010 before a spell at Portsmouth, for whom he made over 50 appearances.
He joined Northampton in January 2015 following an initial loan spell and was shortlisted for the latest League Two player of the year award.
