Levend Bagelry has been bringing its hand-shaped organic bagels to hungry Bostonians through pop-ups, farmers markets, and home deliver for the past year. Now, it’s getting a permanent home at the Boston Public Market.

Alex Jong, owner and bagel baker, started an Indiegogo campaign to help fund his first retail space at the Market on Hanover Street. Levend Bagelry specializes in sourdough bagels with flavors such as herb—a mix of rosemary, basil, and sage—and “the birdfeeder,” with hemp seeds, sunflower seeds, and oats.

The Bagelry makes its own cream cheese with local milk and cream in scallion, maple walnut, garlic and herb, and Boston smoked salmon flavors. At the Boston Public Market, it’ll also be serving up pizza bagels and sandwiches.

The space at the Market will feature an open kitchen, so those perusing the stalls can watch their bagels being made from start to finish.

Jong started the fundraising campaign to help cover the costs of a refrigerator, a kettle, a large mixer, among other things. Previously, Levend Bagelry operated out of a commissary kitchen in Malden, so now it needs all its own equipment.

Levend Bagelry is expected to open late June. Starting on July 18, the entire Boston Public Market will expand its schedule to be open seven days a week.
