Megastar Mammootty, who is currently working in Johny Antony's family entertainer "Thoppil Joppan" will soon join the team of debutant Haneef Adeni's untitled movie. The film is expected to go on floors in August this year.

The untitled family drama will reportedly be produced under the banner of August Cinema by actors Prithviraj Sukumaran, Arya, cinematographer Santosh Sivan and entrepreneur Shaji Nadesan.  The team had earlier bankrolled the Mammootty-starrer "Kadal Kadannu Oru Maathukutty" in 2013.

Mammootty is expected to play a stylish avatar in the movie, which was earlier rumoured to be titled "My Dad David." The film's title is said to have been finalised and the makers will officially announce it shortly. Although other details about the cast and crew are not available as of now, the team has reportedly started the pre-production works of the film.

After wrapping up the shooting of "Thoppil Joppan," the megastar is expected to complete the final shooting schedule of his upcoming Tamil movie "Peranbu" with Anjali. The movie is being helmed by "Thanga Meenkal" director Ram. Recently, it was reported that Mammootty-starrer "Megastar 393" had been shelved; however, the movie's director Akhil Paul has slammed the rumours and said that the project has been postponed as the scripting is not complete.

Meanwhile, two big-budget movies of Mammootty have been lined up for release in the coming months. The actor, who was last seen in AK Sajan's crime thriller "Puthiya Niyamam" is awaiting the release of Nithin Renji Panicker's debut directorial venture "Kasaba," which is expected to be an Eid release in July. The megastar also has Uday Ananthan's romantic entertainer "White," in which Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi makes her Malayalam acting debut opposite Mammootty. "Thoppil Joppan" is expected to be an Onam release.
