The hoarding that came up in the Bhojubir area of the city, has sketch of Mathura violence depicting the killing of police personnel in the hoarding.
With BJPs symbol (lotus flower) the hoarding also has a tag line - 'Khoon se rangi Mathura, so rahi sarkar. Na goonda raj na bharshtachar, Abki bar BJP sarkar' (Mathura is blood stained and the government is sleeping. This time BJP government free from goonda raj and corruption).
However, BJP denied its association with the hoarding. "The hoarding was not put by the BJP, and the party has nothing to do with it," said the BJP spokesperson of Kashi region Sanjay Bharadwaj.
The Kashi region president and MLC Laxman Acharya said that he has no idea about the hoarding. He, however, said that BJP does not believe in such things. He will look into the matter and find out who all are behind it, he added.

At that time too the BJP denied its association with the poster. Maurya himself clarified that poster did not belong to the party. However, it invited criticism from Congress and Samajwadi Party.
Later, a BSP leader Shyam Narain who will contest forthcoming UP election from Saiyyedraja assembly seat in Chandauli district had uploaded a controversial poster on his Facebook page showing chief minister Akhilesh Yadav being chased by an angry elephant. After the police swung into action, the poster was removed with an apology that it was uploaded by some supporter.
