MBABANE – Junior cyclists Sifiso Mhlanga and Muzi Shabangu are setting the pace in the Mountain Bike (MTB) series.

After the first two off-road races staged in Ezulwini and Mlilwane, the duo proved elusive on the rocky, bushy, muddy and thorny trails to enjoy an early lead on the charts. The 19-year-old Mhlanga, who is the reigning champion, is currently on top of the standings of the main races, with 95 points ahead of the equally forceful William Kelly. The latter is on 90 points.

According to the standings released by Cycling Association of Swaziland (CAS) Secretary Menzi Tsela, Muzi Shabangu from Newcom Wheels, was on 100 points. Ncamiso Dlamini from the same club was ranked second with 85 points.
The next race in the series is the Ngwenya Glass MTB Classic. It is expected to be staged on July 9.
