Three killed in road accident

Three persons were killed in a road accident when a speeding TSRTC hit them near Narsimhapuram near Tadvai here on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Appala Ravi (28), his co-brother Payyavula Yakaiah (35) and their relative P Madhu (23) of Tadvai. They were returning home after attending ‘Vana Bhojanam’ in the nearby forest area.

The trio was riding on a motor cycle when the RTC bus going towards Hanamkonda from Eturunagaram hit them. Scores of villagers who thronged the spot hurled stones at the bus and manhandled driver and conductor. Later they staged demonstration on Warangal-Bhupalapatnam national highway obstructing the vehicular movement. Eturunagaram CI, Ravichandra, Tadvai SI Karunakar and staff rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari who was returning from Eturunagaram after attending ITDA meeting consoled the kin of victims and announced an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh each.
