The Sacramento Kings unveiled their new uniforms today, and they’re fantastic. The team has been on a real rebranding kick: They changed their logo in April, and they’re moving to a brand new stadium. It would therefore only make sense that they’d update their duds as well, because a) it would be weird if they kept the old logo on their uniforms and b) the clothes make the NBA player, as the old saying goes.

Here are some observations about and key takeaways from the snazzy new outfits.

1. They’re definitely an improvement

That’s what the old ones looked like (because, if you’re like me, you probably forgot the minute you saw the new ones). The new ones are way sleeker.

2. They really drive home how long it’s been since the Kings won a championship

The Kings’ website points out some of the uniforms’ features, and you see that little gold tag? It’s to commemorate the last time the team won a championship, which was in 1951. I did the math, and that’s a million years ago. The rebranding and the new stadium seems to be a push to make the team great again, however, so maybe these new outfits will help.

3. The baby blue ones are the best

Look how beautiful these are! They’re not too different from the Kings’ current retro jerseys, but hey, if it ain’t broke…

4. The purple ones are super purple

Other things that are purple:

• Grapes
• Prince’s symbol
• A flavor of Gatorade
• Lil Wayne’s favorite drink
• The background of the left side column of Slack (see? )
• The gross Skittles
• Tulips, occasionally

5. they look a lot like the Suns’ old uniforms

Uproxx’s Pete Blackburn pointed this out, and he’s totally right.

6. They’re awesome

Go Kings, you guys nailed this one. Now we’ll have to wait and see if the team decides to pay for people to get the entire uniform tattooed on their bodies. Because they did that with the new logo.
