After BJP team, all-party delegation to visit Kandla, Kairana on Thursday
Lucknow: Hours after the BJP took a U-turn on the Kairana exodus list and its leader Hukum Singh said there was no "communal aspect" to the departure of families, political outfits jumped into the fray to prove BJP's Kairana List was myth-making on the lines of what the saffron party had allegedly done in Godhra, Gujarat, and UP's Muzaffarnagar.
On Wednesday evening, a delegation of different political parties announced they will visit Kandla and Kairana on Thursday.
The delegation will be led by JDU leader and Rajya Sabha MP KC Tyagi, and will have Lok Sabha MP from CPIM Md. Salim, CPI (M) RS MP D. Raja, RS MP DP Tripathi of NCP, and RJD spokesperson Manoj Jha, among others. In an official statement on Wednesday, Tyagi said they will meet with all sections of the society and address a gathering of civil society in Kairana.
The statement said, "Member of the delegation took strong exception and emphatically condemn the statement made by Amit Shah, President, BJP that the Kairana exodus will be taken on all India level. The statement has created anxiety and tension in Western UP. They have tested the waters in Godhra and Muzaffarnagar riot and seen the results and are in search of doing same before the upcoming UP assembly election."
The joint statement by the delegation of MPs also said the BJP was taking advantage of lawlessness in some part of UP, by trying, once again, to play the communal card.
