SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali - The Conclusion" is one of the most-anticipated films of the year after blockbuster "Baahubali - The Beginning" made tremendous collections at the worldwide box offices.

The National Film Award winning Prabhas-starrer was distributed in Kerala by Global United Media (GUM) for Rs. 3.25 crore including Malayalam television rights. Rumours have started doing the rounds on social media that the makers have asked for a whopping amount of Rs. 12 crore to acquire the theatrical rights of the blockbuster's sequel. However, a source close to GUM, which also plans to bag the distribution right of the movie, has confirmed to International Business Times India that the rumoured amount cannot be believed.

"Baahubali - The Beginning" is said to have earned a gross amount Rs 2.55 crore from 150 screens during its first weekend at the Kerala box office. The film has approximately grossed Rs. 13 crore with a share amount of Rs. 5.25 crore and Rs. 10.5 crore nett within 87 days of its theatrical release in the South Indian state. Therefore, trade analysts expect that the multi-starrer might break the pre-business record of other language movies released in Kerala.

Meanwhile, rumours about the Kerala distribution right amount of superstar Rajinikanth's "Kabali" has also surfaced online. The unconfirmed news states that the makers are asking for Rs. 7 crore, while distributors have reportedly quoted up to Rs. 6 crore. With the Pa Ranjith-directed movie hitting the theatres all over the world in July, the makers are expected to officially finalise the distribution deal in the coming days.

As of now, Vijay's "Theri" has been ranked on the top spot with highest theatrical right price among the other language movies released in Kerala. The distribution right of the Atlee-directorial was bagged by Friday Film House in association with Carnival Motion Pictures for a record amount of approximately Rs. 5.60 crore in the state. If "Baahubali 2" will break the pre-release business of "Kabali" and "Theri" is something we need to wait and watch.
