Pan Am airhostess who saved 359 lives during a hijack, Bollywood actress
Sonam Kapoor will be inaugurating a chowk made on her name.
Located next to Neerja's school Bombay Scottish in
Mahim, the event will see the presence of Sonam along with
Aditya Thackeray. A source was quoted saying to a daily, 'Neerja's story inspired many people, and naming a junction after her is a tribute to her.
Sonam is happy to be part of the ceremony. She feels it is about keeping Neerja's valour alive.'
The actress played the role in director Ram Madhvani's film 'Neerja' that was based on the life of the Ashoka Chakra winner's bravery. The source added that for the actress it was not just a movie she was a part of. She lived and breathed Neerja's life for everyday of her shoot and the Bhanot family has now become a part of her own.
