Thiruvananthapuram: Tension prevailed at the Kerala University office on Tuesday when SFI workers tried to attack KSU and ABVP workers, who turned up to file nominations for senate and syndicate elections. As many as three KSU activists and two cops were injured in the incident.
According to the police, the violence broke out around 2pm. Problems started when the SFI supporters tried to prevent KSU workers from entering the building.
This gave way for a clash.
The filing of nominations continued after the agitators were forced out of the campus by the police. KSU activists, who were injured are Mohammed Aslam, 30, of Haripad, Ashiq Roy Abraham, 21, of Pathanapuram and Saju Khan, 29, of Pathanapuram. Cops Prasad and Syam Bhanu sustained minor injuries.
