Devotees dissappointed on Ganga Dussehra
Kanpur: Devotees had to walk on sand to reach the Ganga at Sarsaiyya Ghat to take a holy dip on the occasion of Dusshera Ganga on Tuesday.
The river has dried up and a only a little stream of water, visible far away from the banks, is remaining. The river has gone about a kilometre away from the ghats and is flowing towards Shuklaganj. People had to hire boats to reach some deep water in the river to take dip.
For the past two months the discharge of water from Narona and Haridwar dams had been y limited because of scanty rainfall in Uttarakhand.
Gyanedra Mishra, a devotee from Naubasta, was disappointed as he could not take a dip in the river as it was too far from the bank .tnn
