Rajkot: In what is suspected to be a bitter end to a domestic dispute, a 35-year-old man allegedly strangled his wife and clobbered his five-year-old son to death with a hammer before killing himself at Pithalpur village of Palitana taluka in Bhavnagar district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Vijay Makwana, his wife Sonal (30) and their son Bhagvat (5).

According to Bhavnagar police, Sonal along with her son had come to her maternal home in Kumbharvada, Bhavnagar on Monday evening.
"Sonal was to appear for interview for job of sanitation worker at Bhavnagar civil hospital on Tuesday," said H R Herbha, investigating officer, D-Division police station, Bhavnagar.
"Vijay reached Kumbharvada on Tuesday morning. He allegedly strangled his wife Sonal and son Bhagvat. Further, he also used a hammer to clobber his son. Vijay escaped from the spot after killing the two," said Herbha.
After two hours when Sonal's family member, Vajubhai Chauhan, came home and saw Sonal and Bhagvat in a pool of blood, he informed police.
A couple of hours later Vijay was found dead near an auto showroom in Kumbharvada.
"Vijay had consumed poisonous substance. Primarily, it seems that this was fallout of a domestic dispute between the couple," Herbha added. Police also recovered a rope and a hammer used by Vijay.
