PIACTAWAY, N.J. (AP) - Rutgers has promoted Sarah Baumgartner to deputy director of athletics.

Athletic Director Patrick Hobbs announced the move Tuesday, saying Baumgartner will have oversight of the marketing, ticketing and communications departments, with a continued role in development and sport administration.

She most recently served as senior associate athletic director and chief development officer.

Baumgartner has played a major role in building the university’s donor base while developing and executing a fundraising strategy to raise $100 million for new or upgraded facilities.

For the 2015 fiscal year, athletics raised $14.7 million in gifts and pledges, the second-highest total in department history.

Baumgartner will continue to serve as the sport administrator for women’s basketball, women’s golf and softball.
