Ludhiana students have once again proved their mettle by bagging six of the top-10 positions in the BCA final-year results declared by Panjab University on Monday evening.

Ludhiana: Ludhiana students have once again proved their mettle by bagging six of the top-10 positions in the BCA final-year results declared by Panjab University on Monday evening. While Saloni Garg of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, has bagged the first university position with 86.1%, Shreyansh Jain of SCD Government College, College Road, has been ranked second with 84.5%.
Chahat Aggarwal (83.5%), Ruchi Jain (82.7%), Kritika Jain (81.8%) and Khushboo (81.7%) of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, have secured fourth, fifth, eighth and ninth positions, respectively.

Studying regularly is her key to success.

Saloni Garg (20) says studying regularly is her key to success. A student of Khalsa College for Women, Saloni got the first university position in BCA first year and second year too, with 88% and 86%. "Since I was securing the first position in the university, I expected this. I am overjoyed with my hat-trick."
Saloni wants to become a software engineer and now plans to pursue MCA. "I just don't want to do a desk job after becoming a software engineer. I would love experimenting in this field and want to develop new softwares," she said.

Saloni added that she wants to a write a book for students to help them understanding the concepts of C++ language.
Determination to do better egged him on
Shreyansh Jain (84.5%), 2nd rank
Shreyansh, 21, was determined to secure a good university position. Though he was fifth and second in in BCA first and second year, he was unsatisfied and worked harder to get his overall rank up. "I wanted to a good university position, at least in the top three. In first year when I stood fifth, I was unsatisfied. For getting the second position, I am feeling over the top," he said.
Shreyansh said paper presentation is important to score well. "Trust yourself and understand concepts taught by teachers," he said when asked about his key to success.
He said he did not study regularly, but would clarify all concepts. Shreyansh has been placed in an IT through campus recruitment and will be pursuing an MTech sponsored by the company.
Internet helped her achieve merit position
Chahat Aggarwal (83.5%), 4th rank
Chahat Aggarwal (21), who secured the fourth university position, wants to develop a mobile game. In the first and second year too, Chahat had secured the third university position. "I wanted a hat-trick with the third position, but am satisfied with the fourth rank," she said.
She said exams were tough and unexpected, but the internet helped her do well. "I was so nervous that I did not check my result. It was Saloni who informed me about my marks," she said.
Chahat would now be pursuing MCA from Thapar University and would go for an animation course after that. "I want to make a mobile game that not only entertains people, but also makes them sharper," she said.
Ruchi Jain (82.7%), 5th rank
Ruchi Jain aims to become a lecturer and produce more toppers. Ruchi was seventh in BCA first year and fourth in BCA second year. "I was expecting a better rank, at least second in university, but I am satisfied with this too," she said.
The student of Khalsa College for Women is now planning to pursue an MSc-IT from the same college. "I want to become a lecture and want to produce many more toppers," she added.
When asked about her key to success in the exams, Ruch said that for scoring good marks, she used to study by making a time-table, so that equal time could be devoted to all subjects. "That helped me a lot," she said.
Unexpected questions got her nervous about result
Kritika Jain (81.8%), 8th rank
Kritika spent sleepless nights preparing for the exams, but unexpected questions left her nervous. "I was second in first year and fourth in second year, so I was confident that my position would improve. However, the unexpected questions had got me all worried. This rank is satisfactory," said Kritika.
Kritika is learning the working of Android-based operating systems and wants to make mobile applications that can help of help to the people in their day-to-day lives.
While talking about her success mantra, she said, "I prefer studying extra books, reading on the internet, and also reading up my syllabus books. I used to study late till the night to prepare for final exams," she said. She would now pursue an MCA from Thapar University.
Followed a schedule without fail to do well
Khushboo (81.7%), 9th rank
Twenty-year-old Khushbhoo has high aims in life. She has been placed in a top tech company through campus placement and is now aiming to become the youngest branch head of the firm. "Bagging a rank among the top ten in the university is a proud thing for me," she said.
Talking about her future plans, Khushboo said, "I have been placed in Infosys and now my target is to become the youngest branch head of the company."
While giving tips about how she did well in the exams, Khushboo said, "Prepare a schedule, follow it and take regular breaks while studying. I used to watch TV to relieve myself. Besides, consistency and hard work have always been the key to success."
