At the beginning of the question hour in the Assembly on Tuesday, Congress Legislature Party Leader Rigzin Jora raised the issue of reservation in promotion of the reserved category employees.Jora accused the government of not defending the right of the reserved category in the Hon'ble court.-whether it be High Court or Supreme Court.Jora expressed his deepest respect for the Hon'ble Court and accused the government for not being able to defend its Reservation ACT of 2004 and its Rules. When the speaker interrupted Jora along with all the Reserved category MLAs of Congress, National Conference, BPJ and PDP all of whom jumped into the well of the house in the assembly and kept raising slogans and against the government.

Latter the MLAS sat in the well of the house shouting slogans against the government. After half an hour when the speaker and the Ministers fail to pacify them, the MLAs numbering 15 staged walk out.Latter talking to the media, Jora said that this is a rare occasion when the MLAs cutting across party line stood United to seek redressal of the problem.Jora demanded that the government brings in necessary amendment to ensure continuation of the reservation on promotion.Jora pointed out that it was the Congress-PDP coalition government headed by Mufti Sayeed who brought in the Act and it is unfortunate that this government is unable to defend this Act.He accused the present government of resorting to subterfuge to quash the constitutional rights of Reserved category.
