Dadri-Greater Noida line set for scheduled maintenance on Wednesday
GREATER NOIDA / NOIDA: An eight hour maintenance work is scheduled on NTPC Dadri-Greater Noida line on Wednesday from 4:00 am - 12:00 noon. As a result Noida is expected to face power outage during the period though, scheduling alternate arrangements of power supply to the city during the period, according to NTPC officials, comes under NRLDC. “With prior permission from NRLDC for planned shut down the maintenance work of 400 KV Dadri- Greater Noida line will be undertaken by NTPC Dadri on June 15 between 4 am to 12 noon,” said Debasis Sarkar group general manager NTPC Dadri who maintained that the affected supply to Noida during the period and making alternate arrangements for the same, is a matter under NRLDC jurisdiction.

When contacted Mukul Singhal superintending engineer PVVNL Noida maintained that the said shut down will affect supply by 30 %. “We will get approximately 30 % less supply, as alternate arrangement from Nawada gives only 700 Mw. Current demand for Noida is 1100 Mw. A shortfall of 300 Mw might occur as a result of Dadri - Noida shutdown. We will make some arrangements from Ghaziabad and carry out phase vies cuts of half hour duration across sectors,” Singhal told TOI.
According to Singhal major problem of supply will be from 10 am to 12 noon as till early morning, the weather is cool till 8 am - 9 am, he said. “It would have been better had the cut been scheduled on Sunday as industrial load is not on us on Sunday,” said Singhal.
Meanwhile on Tuesday residents claimed four hour outage in the city across sectors. “There was official rostering of power from 11 am to 1 pm and again from 5 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday and this was the situation across residential sectors in the city,” said Suresh Tiwari, resident of sector 20 and senior vice president FONRWA.
For Wednesday residents are advised to fill water and make alternate arrangements.
