Tempo may be linked to Vastrapur firing case
Ahmedabad: Mohammed Hussain alias Tempo, 45, a resident of Danilimda who was nabbed by crime branch on Sunday night near Narol circle could be involved in an incident which took place on May 15 in Vastrapur when Babu Desai, a resident of Vastrapur, was fired upon.
Desai sustained two bullet injuries in the incident. Police investigations revealed that the attack was motivated by vengeance and three brothers - Vijay Parmar, Aakash Parmar and Kamlesh Parmar - were arrested.
Police now believe that Tempo had masterminded the operation which had been executed by members of Munna Bajrangi gang.
Crime branch sources said Tempo, a historysheeter with 13 cases against him which include murder, robbery, burglary, kidnapping and attempt to murder was caught with two country-made guns, one of which is a pistol, four live cartridges and four knives. "Tempo is an associate of the Parmar brothers who were arrested by Vastrapur police earlier," said a crime branch official.
"Babu Desai was an accused in the murder of Parmars' father. But, when he was acquitted, the trio with vengeance in mind had given a kill contract to the Munna Bajrangi gang. Desai was grievously injured in the attack," said assistant commissioner of police, crime branch, Rahul Patel.
During questioning Tempo, said police sources, said that after the firing incident Kamlesh had given him the firearms and the car used in the incident for disposal but he doesn't know much about the firing incident. "However, Vastrapur police in their case papers have mentioned that Tempo could be involved in the planning of the firing incident," added ACP Patel.
