The driver of an MTC bus lost control of his vehicle on Velachery Main Road on Sunday evening leading to multiple mishaps. One person was injured. According to the traffic police, the bus, which was heading to Thiruporur, rammed a compound wall after the driver lost control. The wall fell over an autorickshaw that then ran into a car and another autorickshaw. “There were around 20 passengers on the bus, luckily, they were not injured,” said the investigating traffic officer. One of the auto drivers Ramanujam (52), from Pallikaranai, escaped with an injury in the abdomen and was taken to the Government Royapettah Hospital. “He was discharged soon,” said the officer.

The bus driver A Sathish (36) was later remanded and released on bail. “We are currently investigating the reason for the accident,” the officer said.
