A woman and her child were killed in rain-related incidents in the district on Monday.
The district witnessed heavy rain in the morning.
The police said that a 20-year-old woman identified as Abida and her 18-month-old child Fathimathunnisa were killed when a compound wall caved in near the kitchen of their house in the Lakshamveedu Colony at Chavasseryparamba near Mattannur in the district at 3.30 p.m.
Though the Fire and Rescue Services personnel reached the spot and took the mother and child out of the debris, they died.
