KOLKATA: Just a month ago when actor Parambrata Chatterjee was in Miami shooting for Suman Ghosh’s “Mi Amor”, he had gone to
Orlando for an event. During the stay in Orlando, there were talks about a nightout. Someone had mentioned about the Pulse nightclub. Chatterjee didn’t drop by at Pulse. A month later, he got to know that it was the same nightclub that had witnessed such a ghastly terror attack.
Back in Kolkata when Chatterjee got to know about the incident, he reacted sharply.
“It is simply shameful and disgusting for humanity, like a lot of things in this world today are,” he said.
According to Parambrata, America needs to review its gun policy. “Fundamentalists, whichever religion cast or creed they belong to, are looking for soft targets all over the world now. This needs to be taken into account. America needs to review its gun policy, availability of firearms has to be controlled in that country.”
The actor insisted that such acts of terror need to be countered strongly. “If this is an ISIS job, it goes on to prove again that they need to be dealt with a no mercy policy. Also, so that people don’t subscribe to their views, marginalisation of the already marginalised minority needs to be stopped,” he said.
