Independent legislator Engineer Rashid Monday demanded that the government slap Public Safety Act (PSA) on Yatris disturbing communal harmony in the valley by trying to take out ‘Abhinav Gupt Yatra’.Quoting newspaper reports, Rashid asked the government why yatris were reaching Beerwah in central Kashmir’s Budgam district when the Education Minister and govt spokesperson Naeem Akhtar had said that the yatra wouldn’t be allowed.“When protesting youths are booked under PSA in downtown Srinagar, why can’t the same law be invoked against these people who have come here to disturb law and order,” asked Rashid.“You are playing dual policy. Use same laws against these people which you are using against Palhallan and other youth.”Meanwhile while speaking on the grants on Education, Rasheed  threatened to snap the water supply to areas in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district if his constituency was not given a degree college.“I will snap water supply to whole area. I give you one year’s time,” Rasheed told the Education Minister, “either give me Degree College, or I will cut water supply to whole area which passes through my constituency.” (CNS)
