With the State government yet to announce the seat matrix for engineering, authorities of the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) have written to the State government that counselling for engineering would begin on June 28.
“We have to comply with the Supreme Court order and complete the counselling on time. Moreover, candidates from across the country will come for counselling, so we cannot change the schedule,” COMEDK chief executive A.S. Srikanth said.
If the Karnataka Examinations Authority sticks to its CET schedule, students will know which college they have bagged a seat in by June 26 and can confirm their choices between June 27 and 29. “The schedule is ideal and the government should stick to this schedule for the benefit of students. If I am unable to get a seat through CET, then I can choose a seat during COMEDK counselling, which is more expensive,” an engineering seat aspirant said.
