Rich tributes were paid to warrior Banda Bahadur on his 300th martyrdom day and hundreds of people gathered to offer floral tribute to the great hero at a programme organised by the state unit of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) here today.
A function was organised on the occasion and a special issue of Himalaya Dhwani on Banda Bahadur was released by Governor Acharya Devvrat.
Acharya Devvrat said Banda Bahadur was a great warrior and hero of the 18th century who kept the flag of “dharma” flying till his last breath.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kuldeep Agnihotri, Vice-Chancellor, Central University, Kangra, said he not only took revenge of martyrdom of sons of Guru Teg Bahadur, but also established the Khalsa Raj.
