Poonam didn't refer to Nikki's acting
Poonam Bajwa, who had a cameo in Mohanlal's Peruchazhi, will next be seen in the Tamil remake of the hit Malayalam film Vellimoonga, which is titled Muthina Kathirikai.
The Tollywood beauty reprises the role that was played by Nikki Galrani. Directed by Sundar C, the film has Poonam playing the role of a young girl Maya, whom an elderly man falls in love with.
The actress says she didn't watch Vellimoonga entirely before shooting the Tamil version.
'I watched a few scenes from the original as the remake is tweaked to suit Tamil sensibilities, though the storyline is same. My character Maya cannot be called a pukka traditional or modern girl, but she is a mix of both. She is often a bit confused, but is a very likeable person at the same time,' says Poonam, for whom it's the third film with Sundar C.
Poonam reveals that she will not be shown as a working woman unlike in Vellimoonga where Nikki's character Lisa was a nurse in Delhi. Director Sundar C, Sathish and Kiran Rathod are the other actors playing the major characters in Muthina Kathirikai. Meanwhile, the actress has also completed a Malayalam film Zachariah Pothen Jeevichiruppundu by Ullas Unnikrishnan.
