Vadodara: M S University and Czech Republic-based Brno University will sign an agreement for nuclear studies soon.
Both the universities will encourage direct contact and cooperation between their faculty members, departments, institutes and other research centres through this collaboration.
"In July, we are going to submit a research proposal on development of time of flight technique (neutrons and gamma rays) facility for nuclear reaction studies and neutron cross section measurements for fast reactors and shielding materials.
This proposal is in collaboration of Brno University of Technology, Brno and Nuclear Physics Institute (NIP), Rez," said professor Nand Lal Singh, who recently visited NIP which houses cyclotron of 45 million electron volt (MeV) proton.
"Once the proposal is submitted, we will enter into an agreement with Brno University of Technology which provides both financial and technical support," said Singh.
Singh, who is president of the Nuclear Track Society of India and vice president of the Ion Beam Society of India, was last month invited by Brno University of Technology to deliver a talk on measurement of neutron-induced reaction on structural materials at 14.2 MeV during the 17th scientific international conference on electric power engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague.
As a member of the International Scientific Committee for Nuclear Energy Research, Utilization and Safety, Singh also delivered a talk on neutron induced reaction and fission cross sections at different energies for reactor applications to research students and academic staff of Brno University of Technology for cooperation possibilities with MSU.
