Vijayawada: The Kapu Sanghala Samakya staged protests in various parts of city and also across the district. Leaders of the community tried to stop the buses as part of the strike at Pundit Nehru bus station.
The police foiled the attempt of Kapunadu leaders and arrested them. Later, they were shifted to Nunna police station. Tension prevailed when the Kapunadu leaders raised slogans against the government and also the police department.
The Kapunadu leaders demanded that the government withdraw cases in Tuni violence incident. However, there was no strike impact in Krishna district and also Vijayawada city.
Vijayawada city Congress president Malladi Vishnu and official spokesperson Kolanukonda Sivaji condemned the arrest of the Kapunadu leaders. They said that the government was implementing anti-democratic policies.
