The Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) has been granted another three months’ time to reclaim the property in Vijayshripura, where 184 houses have been marked for demolition.

MUDA chairman Mohan Kumar told The Hindu that he received the Supreme Court judgment on Friday and according to it, MUDA has time till September 15 to reclaim their land. “We have already issued notices to the property owners to vacate the premises as it has been deemed illegal and marked for demolition,” he said.

MUDA had sought additional time before the apex court for an action and rehabilitation programme before implementing the court order. The authority will recover 23.5 acres of land as a result of the court order.
