Days after hosting the central government’s Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign at India Gate in New Delhi, actor Amitabh Bachchan will introduce a digital education initiative to 5,000 schoolchildren at the National Sports Club of India (NSCI), Worli on Sunday.
Mr. Bachchan will appear in augmented reality form to unveil a learning management system (LMS) app named Robomate+, which will be available to students across the country free of cost.
Augmented realty is a live direct or indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented by computer generated sensory input such as sound, video and graphics.
This new platform, available on Android smartphones and tablets, has been developed by coaching class major MT Educare to help students from urban and rural India to prepare better for competitive examinations.
This digital solution will cater to students from Class V to Class XII, and those appearing for national level entrance examinations.
Mr. Bachchan will explain how the new initiative will connect students and teachers, and change the studying patterns across the country. He will inspire parents to change the way their children study, using digital tools and devices. He will demonstrate how students can simulate a real classroom experience to their advantage, when heavy books give way to tablets, and students can watch teachers live in action.
Dr. Chhaya Shastri, director, MT Educare, said, “Teaching modules are available on digital devices anytime, anywhere and students must make use of this.”
She said even a gram Panchayat office with one Internet connection can turn that office into a classroom where students can access quality content free of cost.
The learning system, available as an app, will help students across India connect with teachers
