Nagpur: SurajNimbalkar (23), has been arrested for molestation, assault, threatening and wrongful restraint following a complaint lodged by his colleague at a private hospital on Friday. The victim was harassed by Nimbalkar after he stopped her by obstructing her two-wheeler with his bike near Rahate Colony on Wardha Road.
Police said Nimbalkar and Sunita (name changed) had friendly relation in the past.
They had developed a close bonding while working together. It’s learnt Sunita works as a receptionist at the private hospital. She is also pursuing education in a college. Nimbalkar, a ward boy in another branch of the hospital, had befriended Sunita a few years back. She had started distancing herself from him after her family disapproved of their match.
Nimbalkar, still interested to continue the relation, had been trying to resume the affair. In the process, he tried to pressure Sunita on the road creating a ruckus. As she alerted her family members, Sunita’s father and brother rushed to the spot to help her. Nimbalkar is learnt to have manhandled Sunita’s father and brother.
An offence was registered against Nimbalkar at Dhantoli police station following which the culprit was taken into custody.
1.18 lakh burglary at Mankapur
Burglars decamped with valuables worth 1,18,00, including cash 27,000, from the residence of Shukla family at Gorle layout at Awasthi Nagar in Mankapur on Friday. Mankapur police registered an offence of burglary against unidentified miscreants.
It’s learnt complainant Pankaj Shukla‘s mother had gone to visit her daughter in hospital while other family members too were away. Burglars sneaked into the residence by breaking open the front door lock. The burglars managed to lay their hands on the valuables after breaking open the wooden cupboard in the bedroom. The Shuklas were stunned after returning home seeing the place ransacked. The family later appraoched the cops and lodged a complaint.

Rs 1.42 lakh burglary
Nagpur: Burglars decamped with valuables worth 1.42 lakh including cash of 1 lakh from DilipRahate’s residence at New Beedipeth in Sakkardara in between June 5 and 10. Police have registered an offence of burglary. Police said 61-year-old Rahate, a retired government employee, had gone
to his daughter’s house with his family at Wardha on June 5. During his absence,
the burglars broke open the back door to gain entry. The burglary came to light after Rahate returned on Friday to his residence. Rahate informed police and lodged a complaint.
Biker dies in accident
A 23-year-old bike-borne youth Chabbilal Challam died on the spot in an accident near Rathod Lawn on Ring Road on Friday. Challam, a resident of KRC Lawn near Palloti Church, Gittikhadan, had received serious head injuries after he dashed against a cycle-rickshaw. The rickshaw-puller Nana Wankhede (35) too was injured in the accident and is recuperating in a hospital. Police have registered an offence of negligent driving.
Wall collapse: 5 injured
Five members of a family belonging to economic weaker section of society were injured in wall collapse on Saturday. The incident took place at Sagar Wadi in Deputy Signal locality, Kalamna, The injured has been identified as Noorjahan 40, her daughters Nagma (17) and Nazia (14). One more daughter and son of Noorjahan were also injured in the accident. Though there was no casualty but the injured persons were rushed to Mayo Hospital for treatment. Police said that Mohammad Anwar whose family members sustained injuries, was outside the house when the incident took place. It has been learnt that it was their neighbor Mohan Tekam’s house from where the under construction wall had collapsed on the tinted shed of Anwar’s residence due to the strong winds. Cops said the incident had been recorded without registering an offence so far.
