Pistachio up on rising demand

NEW DELHI, June 11:  Pistachio prices edged up by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today following increased buying by retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from overseas markets.
Prices of pistachio hairati and peshwari rose by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 1,080-1,180 and Rs 1,280-1,380 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said increased offtake by retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up pistachio prices at the dry fruit market here.
Following are today’s quotations (per 40 kgs):
Almond (California) Rs 16,500-16,700, Almond(Gurbandi-new) Rs 10,500-10,600, Almond (Girdhi) Rs 5,200-5,500; Abjosh Afghani Rs 5,000-22,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 590-595 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 725-825 per kg. (PTI)
