HOW WE MET has its World Premiere, Saturday, June 11th, 2016 at 5 p.m. at the world famous TCL Chinese Theatre, 6925 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood as part of Dances With Films XIX. HOW WE MET will also screen at the Roxbury International Film Festival in Boston Friday July 1, 2016 as well as at the Hudson Valley Comedy Festival.

HOW WE MET is a dark comedy about a sheltered young man that goes on the worst blind date of his life. His supposedly romantic evening turns tragic, as he and his date must cover up the accidental murder of a corrupt cop. They learn to trust each other as they deal with a thrilling and dangerous night.
Ted (Chadwick Hopson) is a loser. After a rough breakup with his longtime girlfriend he finds himself forced back into the dating game that he knows nothing about. He is set up on a blind date with Marie (Christina Marie Moses), a distant friend of his brother. The date starts off horribly wrong when the conversation goes from incoherent to offensive. Matters go from bad to worse when she charitably drives him home and gets pulled over by Officer Ron Johnston (Jonathan Kehoe), an infamously dirty narcotics cop. The routine traffic stop turns into a nightmare when they accidentally shoot and kill Officer Ron.
In a split second they decide to hide the body and go on the run. Little do they know, this move hurls them into the midst of a drug deal when they find themselves in possession of a very sought after narcotic. They must seek help from Marie's ex-boyfriend, a wild and narcissistic British DJ named Eddie Better (Brian Flaccus).
With the cops after them and a local gang on their heels, Ted and Marie must learn to trust each other if they want to stay alive and go on a second date.
"After reading articles about feature films being made for less than $10,000, I thought it could be realistic to make one for $1,000. Having access to cameras, friends with various resources, and ambition, I knew it could be possible. I was able to keep costs down by not having a large crew and wearing many hats during the shoot including Director, DP, Cameraman, and Editor. Between our four man crew, whoever was not in front of the camera during a scene was helping out behind. Pre-Production and shooting the movie was especially tricky due to the rush schedule of having to write the script in one week, cast it the next, and wrap principal photography in less than eight days. The whole film was made from concept to production wrap in less than a month for $1,000. Even though we shot it for a micro budget, what I think makes our film stand out is the strength of the story and characters. I hope the narrative and quality of "How We Met" will not only engage but trick the audience in believing our film had the same ample resources as any other movie you see in theaters today. Just like films prior to us, our goal is that "How We Met" will serve as a tent pole for independent filmmakers looking for inspiration to make their own feature, despite perceived limitations," said director / writer Oscar Rene Lozoya.
