Three sisters injured in wall collapse

KANPUR: Three minor sisters suffered serious injuries, when the wall of a house in the vicinity collapsed at Shastrinagar in Rasoolabad area of Kanpur Dehat district on Friday morning.
Hearing a loud thud and the shrieks of the girls, their father Sher Khan and other family members and neighbours rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation. After a struggle of over half-an-hour, the neighbours managed to extract the girls from the debris and rush them to a hospital.
Doctors stated that the condition of Alfishan (6) is critical while Celina (8) and Mantasha (4) appear to be out of danger.
The incident occurred all of a sudden in the morning, giving little chance to anyone to rush out and help the girls. "Preliminary information suggested that the three girls were playing outside their house when they were hit by bricks. Their family members and others were able to rescue them. Alfishan sustained head injuries. She is yet to regain consciouness," SHO Rasoolabad Prabhat Kumar Singh said.
"The wall was old and storm and rain in the past few days further weakened it," a police official informed TOI.
