Chandigarh: Congress MLA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Congress Seva Dal district president from Pathankot, IS Gulati, on Friday decided to bury differences between them.
On Wednesday, Randhawa had slapped Gulati in full public view following an argument between the two. At that time, Gulati had demanded that Randhawa be shown the door and had even threatened of approaching Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
On Friday, Gulati confirmed that he had decided not to pursue the matter any further after Randhawa regretted the incident.
Sources said the two leaders met at a Congress leaders's house in Gurdaspur on Friday and Gulati agreed to call it truce after Randhawa regretted the episode. He also reached out to the women workers who were allegedly roughed up outside the venue that day. Randhawa is the Congress MLA from Dera Baba Nanak and had got agitated after Gulati repeatedly demanded that he be allowed to join the state leadership at the dharna.
