Patna: Senior IAS officials have been allotted separate districts to monitor the ongoing development and welfare schemes in those districts.
The principal secretary (cabinet secretariat) has sent a communication in this regard to principal secretaries/secretaries, DMs and SPs concerned. Some of the IAS officers have been allotted two districts.
K K Pathak has been given Araria and Kishanganj, Chanchal Kumar Bhagalpur and Banka, Tripurari Sharan Jamui and Munger, Arun Singh Bhojpur and Buxar, N Vijaylakshmi Sheikhpura and Lakhisarai, Arvind K Choudhary Sitamarhi and Sheohar, Prem Singh Meena Jehanabad and Arwal and S Siddharth Saharsa and Supaul districts.

These officials will have to ensure strengthening of institutional arrangements and promote modern and better work culture for faster and effective implementation of the government's schemes and programmes, said sources.
The government move assumes significance in view of CM Nitish Kumar's stress on the execution of his 'Saat Nishchay'. Recently a budgetary provision of Rs 200 crore was made for its nodal department -- cabinet secretariat. Principal secretary (cabinet secretariat) Brajesh Mehrotra has also been made member-secretary of the Bihar Vikas Mission (BVM).
The process of appointment on nearly 2,000 posts of manager, IT supervisor, single-window supervisor etc has begun. The process of appointment, setting up district level registration office and development of software would be completed before October 2. The BVM would be fully operational from October 2.
