Everesters meet Governor

After successesfuly completing the Everest expedition 2016, the four summiteers Malay Mukherjee, Rudra Prasad Haldar, Ramesh Roy and Satyarup siddhanta under the leadership of Debasish Biswas, today, called on the Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi for flag-in at Raj Bhavan. The Governor congratulated them for conquering the hightest pick of the world.
On 13 April 2015, the Governor handed over the national flag to the expedition team, which was unfurled at the summit on 21 May 2016.
The expedition was postponed for some time due to earthquake. Again, the expedition was started from Kolkata on 07 April 2016. They reached the Everest Base Camp (5350 mt) on 15 May 2016 and ultimately, they conquered the highest peak of the world (8848 mt) at 5.30 AM on 21 May 2016. The team returned to Kolkata on 02 May 2016.
