Sanjjjanaa Galrani, also spelt as Sanjana Galrani, who was restricted to glam-doll roles till now, is going for an image makeover. The actress is turning a cold-blooded murderer in upcoming Kannada movie "Dandupalya 2" named Chandri.
The first look and movie photos of "Dandupalya 2," which were released recently, has created a lot of buzz around the film. Sanjjjanaa is seen in a saree-clad avatar and she has a raw and gritty character in the film, which has a lot of scope for performance.
The story of the film revolves around a ruthless gang, which is involved in rape and murder as well as robbery cases. Sanjjjanaa plays one of the members in the notorious gang in "Dandupalya 2." Interestingly, she has put on five kilos for her role in the flick.
"I was stunned when I heard director Srinivas Raju narrate the script. He was confident that I could pull off the role of a cold-blooded killer. My role is going to come as a surprise to fans who are used to seeing me play the eye candy mostly," she had told the Times of India earlier.
It is a sequel to hit movie "Dandupalya." The first instalment was about the real-life story of a dreaded gang of 11 members, who committed heinous crimes in the 90s. It threw light on their modus operandi and their gruesome acts.
Srinivasa Raju's "Dandupalya" had turned a commercial hit not only in Kannada but also in Telugu where it was dubbed as "Dandupalyam." Hence, the sequel is now billed as one of the most-awaited movies of 2016.
Pooja Gandhi, Ravi Kale and Makarand Deshpande had shined in their roles. It has to be noted that they are part of the sequel too. Shruthi and Prakash Raj are reportedly the new additions to "Dandupalya 2."
