Geisler promises ‘blood’ in URCC fight with Kiko Matos

Baron Geisler is not alien to the art of bar brawl. He has become sort of an icon for the countless bar fights that he has gotten involved in, most of them caught on camera.
His latest involvement occurred just last week, when he figured in a heated scuffle, this time with fellow indie actor Kiko Matos. The brawl gave Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) an idea: hold a mixed martial arts duel between the two.
After we interviewed Matos about his side of the brawl, which happened at Tomato Kick bar (what an appropriate setting), we now give Geisler the chance to defended himself from Matos’ allegations.
Geisler told INQUIRER.net that he was at Tomato Kick bar in Quezon City on the night of May 27 to attend a fund-raising gig for Maricon Montajes, an ailing political prisoner. After giving a speech, he jammed with the feature band, and contrary to Matos’ claims, Geisler said he sought the permission of the band for him to jam with them. “Kumanta rin naman ako [at] hindi naman ako [nakaka] bastos. Nagpaalam lang ako,” he said.
Geisler claimed Matos pestered him. “The guy kept on heckling me, I don’t know why; for some reason, if you’re in the right state of mind, you should not do that to a person, especially if he’s talking about something important.”
Geisler said he asked Matos to keep quiet, but Matos allegedly stood up and broke beer bottles, grooming himself for a riot. “Gusto na niyang makipagsuntukan, inaawat na kami, then the boys said, ‘Tigilan niyo na ‘to, magkamay-kamay na kayo.'”
“Nakakahiya, so I extended my hand, at ayun, nakita ng lahat, I was sucker punched,” Geisler narrated, and since then, the popular catch phrase “Mahal kita, pero bibigwasin kita” stormed to public attention.
“And then, noon nag-sprung out nalang ‘yung mahal kita pero bibigwasin kita, this crazy [and] stupid line,”
Geisler advises Matos to ‘shape up’

The 34-year old star denied allegations that he was drunk and said he did not even finish his beer. He had arrived from an exhausting shoot for a show.
Asked about the upcoming fight, he said, “Were still waiting for the contract, dina-draft pa lang namin para maayos. I think ilalabas naman sa TV.”
He also insisted Matos, whom he calls Kiko Matsing, in reference to the iconic muppet in the defunct children’s show, Batibot, to read his upcoming novel entitled “366 Days of Being the Best in Beastmode.”

“May llalabas akong libro soon, sabihin mo na basahin niya (Matos) yun, baka may matutunan siya. Kung tuturuan niya ako ng leksyon, eh, tapos yung sa kiss kita, baka yung halikan niya kamao ko,” he warned Matos.

Fearless forecast
“I’m pretty much confident with the match because I have the background in martial arts,” he said, and he wishes to label himself as a “warrior” who never surrenders in any battle, and not an ordinary fighter.
Geisler, a taekwondo black belter, said that with his athletic training, he can shake the URCC cage with ease and fierceness.

He hilariously elucidated that having hair is also an advantage in the ring. “Well, I have hair, siya (Matos) kalbo siya, isa siyang Kiko Matsing na kailangan ng saging.”
He concluded that he already trimmed down his alcohol and cigarette intake and started his warm-up exercises for the much-awaited face-off on June 25.
“I really need this for this exhibition. But there will be blood, for sure,” he warned.
