June 10, 2016 12:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:26 pm IST - KARIMNAGAR:

The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) and Telangana Vidyavanthula Vedika (TVV) leaders have threatened to revive all forces, which were instrumental in spearheading the Telangana statehood movement, to launch another movement against the State Government demanding people-centric development and social justice for all sections of society.

Condemning the statements made by Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders against TJAC Chairman M. Kodandaram, the TJAC and TVV leaders termed the statements as undemocratic and suppressing the freedom of expression. They alleged that there was a dictatorship rule in Telangana.

Apolitical organisation

Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, TVV state vice president Mukkera Raju and TJAC district coordinator Jakkoju Venkateshwarlu said that the TJAC was not a political organisation now. “It is aimed at remaining as a watchdog in separate Telangana State to ensure that there was social justice for all sections of society”, they maintained.

Reiterating that the TJAC would support its chairman Kodandaram, they clarified that they were not against the State Government, but it had given only constructive suggestions for the people-centric development, they added.

“If the Government does not take our suggestions, we will pressurize it through agitations by involving all sections of the society”, they noted. Appealing the Government not to target the TJAC leaders and suppress their voice, they said that they had made suggestions to the Government only after making thorough field visits in the State.

“We are not against welcoming corporate companies to Hyderabad, but we also want the Government to focus on the small scale industries in the rural also and strengthening of the age-old professions of artisans”, they maintained. They also found fault with the Government on going back on several poll promises and neglect of vital sectors of agriculture, education, health and power sector.

Two years of TRS

On this occasion, they released a booklet on “Two years of TRS governance - an observation” which highlighted neglect of various core sectors by the Government such as land to the dalits, English medium education with CBSE syllabus in all schools etc. Telangana Vidyavanthula Vedika district president Ch. Prabhakar Rao, DTF district general secretary K. Rajamallu and others were also present.
