Phoenix Art Museum offers bargain summer memberships

Phoenix Art Museum is offering $30 mini-memberships for the summer.

Get out of the heat and into a museum.

The Phoenix Art Museum is offering summer mini-memberships through Aug. 31 that give unlimited free admission for two adults and the pass holder's children or grandchildren age 17 or younger. Pass holders also get 10 percent off at the museum store and Palette, the on-site restaurant.

Annual memberships start at $80, and the $30 price of the mini-membership can be applied to an annual upgrade. Daily admission is regularly $12-$15 for adults, $10 for students with ID and $6 for ages 6 to 17. It's free for age 5 and younger, and for everyone on First Friday (6-10 p.m.), Free Wednesdays (3-9 p.m.) and Discount Tire Free Family Second Sundays.

Current exhibitions 

"2015 Contemporary Forum Artists Grant Winners"

Contemporary Forum, the museum's contemporary art support organization, presents works by Arizona emerging artists including Abbey Messmer, Kazuma Sambe and Nathaniel Lewis. The exhibit runs in conjunction with Saskia Jorda, the 2015 Arlene and Morton Scult Contemporary Forum Artist Award recipient. Runs through Sunday, June 12, in the Harnett Gallery.

"Defining Moments: 50 Years of Fashion at Phoenix Art Museum"

This exhibition celebrates the museum's fashion program, showcasing pieces by influential designers including Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel. Runs through Sunday, Aug. 7, in the Orme Lewis & Ellman Galleries.

"Here and Abroad: Photographs by David Taylor"

This exhibit showcases the Arizona photographer's documentation of monuments along the U.S.-Mexico border in 2007, and also more expansive works in recent years that include people, interior and interactions along the border. Runs through Sunday, Oct. 16, in the Norton Family Photography Gallery.

"David Taylor: Photographs" is now on display at Phoenix Art Museum.

"Ducks, Eggs and Fish: Works by Martin Fan Cheng​"

Contemporary Chinese artist Martin Fan Cheng paints the world as he sees it, focusing on his love of fishing and how food is an obsession in Chinese culture. Runs through Sunday, Nov. 6, in the Art of Asia Gallery.

"Edward Burtynsky: WATER"

The Canadian photographer traveled the world from 2007 to 2012, documenting how the precious resource is depleting. Burtynsky shows humanity's relationship with and dependency on water in various ways, from an energy source to religious rituals. Opens Friday, July 1, and runs through Sunday, Sept. 18, in Steele Gallery.
