Jamaica will be without top left-back Kemar Lawrence when they face Mexico in the Copa America Centenario tomorrow night.

Lawrence picked a groin injury in Jamaica's opening Group C fixture against Venezuela in Chicago on Sunday.

Lawrence went down five minutes before the half-time break and according to team doctor, Derrick McDowell, the New York Red Bulls' defender has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament.

"He is out, he has a groin injury," McDowell told STAR Sports ... "It is something he has been carrying for a while. He aggravated the problem in training a little, but it got worse in the match," he explained.

Lawrence's absence is a big blow for Jamaica which went down 1-0 to Venezuela and must win tomorrow to keep alive its hopes of remaining in the tournament.

Other players picked up knocks in the game and are on the treatment table but McDowell stated that they will all be fit to face Mexico.

"(Garath) McCleary has a cut above the eye but that was stitched up, Wes (Morgan) got a bruise and he is OK and Giles Barnes got a little bruise but they'll be OK," McDowell said.
