Ayyaz (20), who sustained fractures in both legs, has been admitted to a hospital.

The impact of the crash was such that it took the police more than half an hour to pull out the load carrier from under the truck using a crane. “All three were travelling in the cab of the carrier. Two of them, including the driver, died on the spot. The third sustained injuries,” said Assistant Sub-Inspector Shastri.

The load carrier was transporting meat from Jaipur towards Delhi. The accident happened around 6 a.m. when the mini-truck hit the truck from behind as it stood aprked along the roadside due to a flat tyre.

After the police were informed, a team from the Sector 18 police station — accompanied by traffic police and civil defence volunteers — reached the spot.
