Cotton College State University (CCSU) will organize a summer school in astronomy and astrophysics from June 21 to July 12.

Guwahati: Cotton College State University (CCSU) will organize a summer school in astronomy and astrophysics from June 21 to July 12.
The summer school will be run from the university campus at Panbazar, Guwahati, and cover a wide range of topics. These will include stars and stellar evolution, binary stellar systems, interstellar medium, pulsars, gravitational waves, galaxies, clusters of galaxies and active galaxies, cosmology and large-scale structure formation.
"There will be hands-on experience in data analysis, intensive tutorials, screening of astronomy-related movies and night-sky watching sessions.
Postgraduate and research students are also encouraged to apply," said university vice-chancellor Dhruba Jyoti Saikia.
The school is being co-ordinated by Prasad Basu and Sukanta Deb of the department of physics at the university.
The university authorities have fixed June 15 as the deadline for submitting applications for joining the school, where several internationally known astronomers will join as faculty members.
