Martyrdom of 5th Sikh guru observed

The martyrdom day of the fifth Sikh guru Arjan Dev was observed in Dehradun today. According to the tradition, chhabeels (sweetened cold water) were organised all across the city. Shabad kirtan was recited at various gurdwaras by Sikhs and devotees paid their respects to the Guru.

Survey Chowk, EC Road, Arhat Bazar, Patelnagar, Karanpur, Bhandaribagh and Race course were some of the prominent places in Dehradun where chhabeels were organised and passersby were provided with cold sweetened water.

Devotees were informed about the life and works of Guru Arjan Dev and langar (free kitchen) was organised to mark the day.
