VW Golf GTI TCR Racecar Gets Wankel Power, Ferrari Testarossa Intakes in Mashup

VW Golf GTI TCR Racecar Gets Wankel Power, Ferrari Testarossa Intakes: rendering 1 photo

Racecars are the kind of machines that can easily make a man weak in the knees and today we're here to talk about high-octane weaknesses.
For instance, there's more than one thing wrong with the extreme contraption rendered above, but we fell for its charms, which meant we couldn't help but share it with you.

We're dealing with a mashup using the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR racecar as a starting point. You know, the $124,000 circuit-bond Golf that won't be offered in the US. And while those militating against front-wheel-drive will tell you the 326 hp Vee-Dub is no important loss, this is one hell of a racecar.

Nevertheless, Khyzil Saleem, the British artist whom we have to thank for this piece, has decided to gift this Golf with a Wankel part. Now, before any of you rotary-savvy aficionados say anything, you should know the pixel master has already figured out the air filters were supposed to sit on the other side.

"I've not messed with a MK7 Golf yet, so I decided to combine one of them with my love for the Rotary engine. *I realise the filters are on the incorrect side, I learnt something new!*" Khyzil explains on his Facebook page.

Then there are the Ferrari Testarossa-borrowed intakes on the sides of the car. We're aware of the... functional challenges that arise here, but we have to admit the opinion-splitting visual result is what won us over in this case.

While the pixel arrangement you can see here is ar from the most extreme mashup we've brought you this year. Frankly, it would be difficult to choose a single rendering that deserves the title mentioned above, which is why we'll be back with more wicked 1s and 0s as soon as we get our keyboards on them.
