Actor Kalki Koechlin, who will be seen in Konkona Sen Sharma’s directorial venture A Death In The Gunj, says her director and colleague is precise in her work. Heaping praises on Konkona, Kalki said, “She is fantastic. She is superhuman. I don’t know how she does it, but she sleeps for four hours a day and despite being so tired, she never shouted on the sets.”

Talking further, Kalki shared Konkona has mastered all the tricks of her job and is a solid film-maker. “ I think because she has been around her mother (Aparna Sen) and has been doing films all her life, she knows her visuals, her frame, and her edits and so, she is very good,” IANS quoted the Waiting star as saying.

And, while Konkona has made a transition from being an actor to a director, will we ever see Kalki do the same? Speaking about this, Kalki stated, “Not anytime soon. I am enjoying my work right now. Besides that, direction is too much work. I don’t even have enough money and time to make a film.” These days, Kalki is occupied with theatre-related work as well.

Taking chances: Kalki’s unpredictable career trajectory

A Death In The Gunj also features Konkona’s husband Ranvir Shorey and Tanuja. The film traces the journey of five individuals who are on a holiday.

Playing the role of an Anglo-Indian woman in the film, Kalki has picked up a little bit of Bengali for her character, reported The Indian Express. “I had to learn some Bengali for the film as I am playing a woman who is half Bengali. There are some Bengali words in the film,” she said, adding, “There is one scene in the film where everyone is singing the famous Bengali song Dhitang Dhitang Bole. I had to learn it by heart. It was fun and interesting. Bengal has such a rich culture.”
