Theo Walcott reportedly has no plans to leave Arsenal despite the club trying to seal the transfer of Jamie Vardy. The pacey forward has found himself linked with a move away from the north London giants in recent weeks, but Walcott does not plan to move this summer.

Walcott, 27, found himself on the bench for the last few games of Arsenal's Premier League campaign and he was not selected by England manager Roy Hodgson for his Euro 2016 squad. But he is eager to stay at the Emirates Stadium and fight for his place next season, according to ESPN.

Arsenal have triggered Vardy's release clause and the Premier League-winning striker is currently weighing up a potential move to the club. However, his involvement with Euro 2016 has slowed the progress, as he may not be free to sign a deal until the end of the tournament in France.

It had been speculated that West Ham United were interested in pursuing a £25m deal for his services. However, the Hammers have been linked with a host of alternative centre-forwards in recent weeks, too.

In April, Wenger admitted Walcott's Arsenal future was uncertain. Asked if Walcott could leave, the Arsenal boss replied, according to The Guardian: "I don't know yet.

"I'm not in transfer mode at the moment but I think he has gone through a bad spell. He has responded very well, because he said: 'OK, I will work harder and more.' When he comes on now, you see he is motivated and focused."
