Thodari (train), directed by Prabhu Solomon, is on track to reach theatres soon.

Solomon, known for his visually stunning stories with poignant romantic tales (think Mynaa, Kumki and Kayal), returns after two years, with Dhanush in the lead.

At the music launch ceremony held in Chennai on June 6, the film’s trailer revealed Dhanush playing a railway employee who works in the pantry car. Malayalam actress Keerthi Suresh, paired opposite Dhanush, plays a terrorist.

Solomon revealed that the film was shot on a moving train for thirty days and they had to wrestle with several challenges, one being staging action sequences atop the train’s roof.

“Dhanush and Keerthi Suresh did not hesitate to take risks for their characters,” he added.

Sathya Jyothi Films, the banner known for Moondram Pirai and Idhayam, has produced Thodari. This is the banner’s 130th film; it’s Dhanush’s 30th. D. Imman, who has been scoring music for Solomon since Mynaa, is the music composer. Imman meets expectations once again with this album, which has lyrics written by Yugabharathi.

The song Ponna usuru vandiruchu was played at the event and its breathtaking visuals highlighted cinematographer’s Vetrivel Mahendran’s excellent camera work.

With a train as the central character, Thodari boasts of an ensemble cast that includes Ganesh Venkataraman, Radha Ravi, Harish Uthaman, Karunakaran and Thambi Ramaiah.
