Here's how there is a much deeper connection between Bollywood and South film industries

Bollywood, Tollywood, Kollywood, Mollywood, Sandalwood all work in tandem with each other. Many times, a Bollywood movie is remade into a South film and other times a famous South film is adopted by B-town. Sometimes even actors and actresses are shared between the two industries. Well, here is another startling parallel for you, some filmmakers of all four South film industries are very similar to some big Bollywood directors in terms of how they make a movie, the story selection and certain traits. Grand sets, larger than life characters and fantasy induced landscapes, these are the things that makes these two great directors a lot similar with one another. SS Rajamouli's Magadheera was a fantasy filled love story starring Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal. In a way, Sanjay's latest film Bajirao Mastani was a film in similar vein, although Bajirao was a historical movie, but the concept of love story in a period setting remained the same.

Mysskin - Anurag Kashyap

Anurag Kashyap is a serious filmmaker who often dwells in dark and disturbing subjects. A Kollywood director is also famous for these exact traits, director Mysskin. Mysskin also deals with dark subjects which he incorporates in his thrillers so well. What's more, both the directors don't hesitate to use violence and cursing in their movies to make it more hard hitting to watch. So, as you can see these two mavericks have much more in common than you would think.

Gautham Menon - Imtiaz Ali

Imtiaz Ali is well known for his unconventional love stories with a very modern touch. Everyone has enjoyed his work in Jab We Met, Rockstar, Tamasha and many other films. Well, the South has its own Imtiaz Ali, and he is much more experienced too. Gautham Menon is one those filmmakers who comes up with the most unique love stories like Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, Suriya's Vaaranam Aayiram, Neethaane En Ponvasantham and many others which deal with love, loss and how the characters make an amazing discovery about themselves as they go through the pain of love.

Srikanth Addala - Sooraj Barjatya

Mahesh Babu starrer Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu is proof enough that this Tollywood director believes in making films rooted in family values, just like the famous Sooraj Barjatya of Bollywood. Even the latest films of both the directors were complete family dramas. Barjatya made the Salman Khan starrer Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo, and Srikanth Addala released Mahesh Babu's Brahmotsavam. While the stories weren't the same, the grand sets and scenes of family coming together and celebrating looked pretty similar. What's more both Barjatya and Addala also write the script and screenplays of their own films.

Venkat Prabhu - Rohit Shetty

Filled with comical, loud characters and over the top action scenes, there is a lot of similarities between these too. Venkat Prabhu's films like Goa and Mankatha are so crazy that if you didn't know it was directed by him, you would wonder if Rohit Shetty has entered Kollywood. And of course no Rohit Shetty or Venkat Prabhu is complete without some cars and people flying all over the place. It is safe to say both these filmmakers are harcore entertainers in their respective film industries.
