Prashanth Chandran, 19-year-old differently abled from the city, surmounted a unique feat and entered the record books on Tuesday.

Prashanth, who suffers from a congenital heart problem, total visual and partial auditory impairment, successfully carved his name in the India Book of Records during the official event of India Book of Records Events 2016 that was held in the capital.

While he was being tested for his ability to recall the days of 10 randomly chosen dates from a given list of 10,000, Prashanth was cheered by the former Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, Director of the State Institute of the Mentally Challenged M.K. Jayaraj, Secretary of the Parents’ Association of Disabled Students V Jayakumaran Nair, and his family.

As per the rules and guidelines, Prashanth had to recite the 10 randomly chosen dates within the first thirty seconds, and this included dates like May 30, 1567, March 14, 8756, and February 22, 3987.

Prashanth displayed yet another skill as he played two songs on his keyboard.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Achuthanandan.

Mr. Jayaraj pointed out Prashant’s achievements was testimony to the fact that sheer determination can enable people to achieve the impossible.
